XL Airways customers in Sanford Airport were left stranded on Thursday September 11th after the Airline suddenly ceased operation. The Airline placed the blame on excessive fuel costs and the current problems the economy is facing.
266 passengers were onboard an XL Airways flight ready to take off from Sanford Airport when the plane was called back. Sanford Airport to their credit did everything they could to help stranded passengers. Shuttle buses were laid on and the Airport was kept open all night
